Navimare Uniprimer is a fast drying primer for below and above waterline areas. Since the product is single pack it is easy to apply and to recoat. The product provides an excellent barrier against water penetration and was especially designed as a priming system on steel and wooden hulls.

Surface Preparation
- Steel — Oil and grease removed by solvent cleaning or Gelclean. Remove weld spatter and smooth weld seams and sharp edges. Abrasive blasting: min. Sa 2.5 – ISO 8501:1. Remove dust and apply the first coat of Navimare UniPrimer 7148 immediately.
- Corroded areas — Power tool cleaned to ISO-St3 or blast cleaned to ISO-Sa2 or better. Existing systems should be dry and free from fouling, loose paint, salt, grease and other contaminants.
- Wood — Ensure surface is dry. Sand thoroughly with a mechanical sander and remove remaining dust. Degrease if necessary.
Usage Instructions
Substrate should be dry and free from contaminations. Relative humidity less than 90% RH. Thin if necessary with 0–5% of the specified thinner. When applied by brush or roller, apply in smooth and gentle strokes crosswise. Avoid excessive application. For underwater areas apply 3 coats by spray to a total system dry film thickness of at least 200 microns. When applied by brush or roller, 4–5 coats may be required. Wear protective clothing, goggles and gloves.

Drying and Recoating Times
| Substrate temp. | Dry to recoat | Fully cured | Maximum recoating (1) |

| 23°C | 8 hours | 1 day | Indefinite |
| 30°C | 4 hours | 1 day | Indefinite |
(1) The surface should be dry and free from salts and other contaminants prior to overcoating. The best intercoat adhesion is achieved when the subsequent coat is applied before the preceding coat is fully cured. After prolonged exposure times it may be necessary to roughen the surface in order to ensure intercoat adhesion. When in doubt, consult your nearest Navimare office.
